Gimmnu is an AI-assisted menu analysis tool designed to help people navigate dietary restrictions with more clarity, confidence, and ease.
The Problem
For many people with dietary restrictions, eating out can become mentally exhausting. Menus are often incomplete, inconsistent, or difficult to interpret, forcing people to spend large amounts of time researching ingredients, reading reviews, searching restaurant websites, and preparing questions before they can confidently choose where to eat. Even then, uncertainty often remains.
Gimmnu was designed to reduce that burden and help people spend less time decoding menus and more time enjoying the experience of going out to eat.
Why I Built Gimmnu
I built Gimmnu after repeatedly experiencing how difficult and isolating food navigation can become when you have dietary restrictions. Something as simple as choosing a restaurant can turn into a long process of investigation, comparison, and risk management.
Over time, I realized the problem was not only personal. The systems surrounding food transparency are often fragmented and inaccessible, especially for people trying to make informed decisions quickly. Gimmnu began as an experiment in simplifying that process and creating a tool that could help people feel more confident, included, and supported.
How It Works
Gimmnu analyzes restaurant menu information and organizes it into a simpler, more readable format. The current version allows users to submit a restaurant menu link and receive categorized results showing likely safer options, potential concerns, and items that may require additional caution.
The tool also generates suggested questions users can ask restaurant staff to help clarify ingredients, preparation methods, and cross-contact risks. The goal is not to replace human judgment, but to make menu navigation faster, clearer, and less overwhelming.
